Detroit Michigan Distillery first licensed distillery since prohibition opened in 2022, this Corktown spot is highly regarded for its line of small-batch whiskey, gin, and mezcal. Topsy’s Revenge is their most popular drink so far, a vodka-based cocktail with fruity summer flavors and a savory vanilla oak bitters.

Founded by eight childhood friends in a former equities trading room, this Detroit City Distillery specializes in creating small-batch artisanal whiskeys, gins, and vodkas using the finest local ingredients. In this repurposed 1904 flour mill, the distilled spirits are made in a towering three-story column still and more than 90% of their ingredients are sourced from farms near the facility. The Whiskey Factory offers a distillery tour, tastings, and an intimate event space.

Keep an eye out for branded elephant cocktail glasses, staff safari hats, and collectable Weiss in the Wild tokens, which you can bring to the bar for a free shot. This is the kind of place that takes its ethos seriously, but not so much that you can’t have a little fun with it.
